In a time when you can fit an entire bookcase worth of books in one sleek ereader, the actual books you decide to keep tend to be more precious. And maybe they need some extra undivided attention? Eenboekskast has just the solution for that!
Books are so very personal, and just bringing up the fact that I read 95% of my books digitally these days, can be a nerve wrecking thing to confess in some social circles.
I’m by no means a book hater, nor am I proper minimalist. I do however want to only surround myself with the books I truly loved reading. And I simply can’t see the point in letting them disappear in an overcrowded book case. That is why I find the eenboekskast (which translates into “one book case”) so incredibly clever.
The eenboekskast came to live when sisters Geertje en Clara Pouderoijen decided to collaborate. Clara, a visual artist, designed the eenboekskast back in 2010. But it wasn’t until sister Geertje went back to school to become a furniture designer, that they decided to combine their strengths and go into business together. Eenboekskast is one of the two different models they currently have on offer.
Made from oak, maple, cherry or walnut wood, this sturdy piece will look good in any interior. And more importantly, as each case is custom-made for your book, it will fit snuggly and turn your favourite book into the center of attention it deserves to be.
