Finally I am lucky enough to be able to feature an amazing designer who also runs a music blog. Let’s welcome spring with Safura!
(press play please)
Safura is a line of fashion accessories by Barcelona based designer Tania Adam. She is specialised in multiculturalism, immigration and African societies, and blogs about African music over at Radio Africa Magazine.
Safura is also the name of Tania’s grandmother, who’s father was an Indian trader who settled in Mozambique where he married a local women. The mixture of Asian and Africa, combined with the Mediterranean materials, and the juxtaposition between global and local culture, that was the inspiration for this collection.
Safura is a personal and emotional project that evokes elegancy, beauty, strength, vitality and colour, just like the fabrics used in its unique designs.
The bold fabrics used in this collection come from different parts of the world, while all the manufacturing takes place in Barcelona. You can find even more bold prints in the espadrilles that are also part of the collection, and which perfectly go with these ‘Springtastic’ tote bags.
