Every second there are over 8000 tweets send out into the world. What if your tweet is a true literary masterpiece and really deserves to be noticed, or, better yet, to be framed? Onehundredfourty will help you out, and make it all pretty too!
Pulling tweets out of the online world and into your actual world, isn’t necessarily new. For example Permanent 140 will happily carve your 140 characters in wood or metal.
What onehundredfourty brings to the table though is something entirely different: they will turn your 140 characters into an actual unique art print.
The aim with our prints is to enable unique ideas, dreams, hopes or memories to shine through. While looking splendid of course.
Of course, anyone can just paste their twitter wisdom in Word, select Helvetica or Arial and have a poster printed at a local copy shop. But that doesn’t make it art does it? And you’ll also miss out on the element of surprise that Onehundredforty very cleverly incorporated into their product.
Artists crafted each design, which is build up from different components. The coding combines these components and your 140 characters, and creates a unique print. Any given tweet can only be printed once with every design combination, making sure your unique print is indeed the only one in the world.
To ensure that these prints look like art work and not computer-generated “art”, in their coding they link certain images, colours and fonts. All in close collaboration with the artist, who receives 10 dollar for every poster sold.
Fun feature: every time you press the reload button on their website, a new design comes up. However, think twice before you do, as the old design will be lost forever!
The team behind onehundredfourty is the same team behind Creative Agency Radon. They used to make personal prints for every employee leaving the company, and thus have all the print facilities and creativity in house.
Their pretty genius twitter art idea has had a successful Kickstarter campaign, but you can still join in if you want!
