MINDFUL MONDAY: Nendo Sticker Calendar

February 9, 2015

Nendo Mindful MondayMindful Monday: time to take a deep breath and stop. running. around.! Gigot is here with some Mindful inspiration. Introducing today: Nendo‘s Sticker Calendar. Kenzo Sticker Calendar - Changing of the seasonsKenzo Sticker Calendar - Changing of the seasons Kenzo Sticker Calendar - Changing of the seasons Kenzo Sticker Calendar - Changing of the seasons

Now that we’re slowly creeping towards the spring, I am once again reminded how the changes in season can be noticeable – if indeed you create the space to notice them. Stop hibernating, go outside, and wander. What do you see, smell, feel?

In the corner of the world where I live I can notice the light is slowly getting warmer, and the first snowdrops are braving the highly fluctuating temperatures. Things come, go, and are in a constant flow. Mindful Monday is a perfect time to pause for a second and notice it all!

Now if you don’t have the time or the patience to go out and see this in real life, Nendo created something very pretty to notice the changing of seasons within the comfort of your home: the sticker calendar.

Nendo is a renowned design studio from Japan, which has been mentioned on GIGOT before as a Friday Find (such pretty chocolates!). Their sticker calendar is basically an advent calendar which you can enjoy all year. With every sticker you peel off, the calendar slowly shows the shifting of the season. For example september starts off all golden and the trees ooze that Indian summer vibe, but after 30 days of peeling off a sticker, the golden glow has been replaced by a deep autumn red, and another 31 days later has turned into a pale November soft grey.

The colour palette, the pretty illustrations and the small surge of joy experienced when peeling away a sticker makes this a smart design and a perfect Mindful Calendar (and would totally complement that other, very MIndful calendar). Enjoy your Mindful Monday!
