Oh my… time for some more quirky design on Gigot: meet Kenjiro Sano, a Japanese designer/notepad genius.
Japanese designer Kenjiro Sano (or ‘Mr.Design’) is doing all kinds of things with those notepads lying around most offices. With the tagline ‘humor makes it better’, he clearly tried to incorporate some fun into the blank functional notes we normally use.
The sushi kit looks delicious, with its salmon, tuna, fatty tuna and omelet pieces. For me it gets my mind drifting to former all you-can-eat sushi feasts, happy memories but these daydreams won’t help my productivity.
Nor will looking at the house-shaped notepad, as it’s shaped like a little countryside cottage where the fireplace is lit, hot coco is abundant and office life is far-far away.
As a counter argument, having fun stationary surely lightens the mood, and a joyous employee will undoubtedly work harder and be a nicer colleague.
Until a large scientific study will conclude what the real effect of fun stationary on office workers is, I think my personal conclusion is that: a. these office pads are awesome and b. fun stationary is always a good idea, as are daydreams of sushi and fire-lit cottages.
