Mindful Monday: time to take a deep breath and stop. running. around.! Gigot is here with some Mindful inspiration. Introducing today: Fred & Friends Tea Infusers.
Fancy a slow brew? These tea infusers will happily sink their tea leave filled bodies into a cup of boiling of hot water. And while they take their relaxing bath in your tea cup, you can sit back yourself and practice some mindfulness.
These relaxing fellas are designed by Fred & Friends, a group of designers based in Rhode Island, with a focus on “well-designed stuff that solves a problem, puts a smile on your face, and doesn’t cost a fortune.”. It’s a group of designers who put a whole lot of quirky into quirkyness, with muffin tops baking cups and this ‘Srubwich’ among my favourites.
Once you boiled water, and let the tea infuser do its work, you can start a tea meditation. Yes, that’s a real thing. Thich Nhat Hanh taught it to Oprah.
And peace, joy and happiness is possible during the time I drink my tea. Thich Nhat Hanh
Your hands can feel the warmth of the cup, your tastebuds taste the sweetness, your body will appreciate the warm liquid. While you sit down and drink your tea mindfully, it’s key to not ruminate the past and don’t worry about the present. As Thich can explain so beautifully:
If you are ruminating about the past, or worrying about the future, you will completely miss the experience of enjoying the cup of tea.
You will look down at the cup, and the tea will be gone.
Life is like that.
If you are not fully present, you will look around and it will be gone.
You will have missed the feel, the aroma, the delicacy and beauty of life.
It will seem to be speeding past you.
Enjoy your Mindful Monday!
